We had such a blast at the Denver Dumb Friends League Furry Scurry last Saturday! EnduraPet had a booth in the "Flealess Market" section of the festival area, and we had the pleasure of meeting some of the most fabulous, generous people who collected pledges and walked for the animals. In all, $751,572.54 was raised and donations are still being collected here.
Darryl and Carl keeping connected :)
What I found particularly wonderful was the sheer number of HAPPY dogs with HOMES! Having worked in shelters for the past 20 years, I tend to see more frightened, desperate, and profoundly sad animals than I care to count. While shelter workers and volunteers do all they can to ensure the lives of their precious residents are as comfortable as possible while they are waiting and hoping to be adopted, the reality is that we are not yet a responsible enough society to ensure quality of life to homeless pets. So seeing these countless darlings with their humans, happy and secure in the kowledge that they are loved, adored and wanted...well, it was nothing short of awesome. I was moved to tears so many times on Saturday!
A huge thank you to those of you who were able to attend, and as always, we love getting out there to meet you! What? You want to see some cute doggies from the Furry Scurry? Oh alright...here you go:
Happy faces indeed. It was such a great day and we are so very pleased to see so many happy pups is great homes. Lucy (the lovely lady in black and white) dwarfed our water bowl. Maybe we need to bring a kiddie pool next year :)
